It also provides a good mix of physical movement, fresh air, wonderful scenery, and great company!
There is no such thing as hiking too late or too early, both young children and parents can enjoy being out in nature. Our location has a kid-friendly, easy, short distance trail with a mini stream to wade in, suitable for everyone. It is not too exhausting but interesting enough to keep the children on their toes all throughout it. There are birds, bugs, branches, logs, sticks and other features that will make the hike more of an adventure.

Bangkong Kahoy translates to Wooden Bench, hence the name “bangko” which was derived from live tree trunks and branches. About 2-hours drive from Metro Manila, Bangkong Kahoy Valley sits between the mountains of Mt. Banahaw and Mt. Cristobal; a comfortable haven for weekend trekkers, bird watchers and anyone who wants to escape to a cool and quiet retreat. One gets a magnificent view of two mountains interacting with the moods of sun, the wind and the rain, constantly changing, always proclaiming the glory of its Maker.

The municipality of Calatagan in Batangas has been prominent for its white sand beaches and coastal ecotourism programs.
Community-based marine protected area and nature park management have long been implemented in the locality and supported by different government and private agencies.
To sustain the protection and conservation efforts of Bantay Dagat (Fish Warden) which they voluntarily do by heart, Calatagan Floating House was born, an ecotourism project that is a source of livelihood for their families. It serves as an alternative bed and breakfast space for visitors, and a venue to learn about marine ecosystem and conservation.
For this camp, wildschoolers experience living and learning in a floating classroom called Balyena. Imagine a modern bamboo raft with sleeping and lounge space, complete with basic kitchen tools and utensils, a toilet, and water from built-in tank.
Balyena has a nipa roof and bamboo flooring for outside space and vinyl tiles inside. It has an upper deck for hammocks and mats for quiet time and meditation. It has a base measurement of 4.8m x 16m and has a carrying capacity of 20 people
Balyena is not just a space, it is a vessel that will bring every wildschooler closer to the three marine ecosystems that is happily growing in Calatagan: Seagrass, Mangroves and Corals.
Teraoka Family Farm, a family owned farm nestled between the mountains of Mangatarem, takes farming back to its roots striving to offer quality 100% organic produce. Believing in the relationship between soil and farmer, they aim to work in harmony with nature, not against it.
This camp will be filled with lots of working on and for the land to welcome the sprouting life. Everyone can expect farm chores such as seed saving and growing them in nurseries, making plots and planting vegetables, care for existing plants by watering them and applying natural fertilizers. Children and adults will learn to make composts, help harvesting produce and assist the farmers in farm animal care by feeding them and giving water. Campers also get to experience community cooking of healthy meals from the bountiful harvest.
Nestled in the local fishing village of Danacbunga in Botolan, Zamables, is an all-natural haven called Sambali Beach Farm. It all began with Sambali’s forerunner, Ching Camara, who resorted to organic living and healing through nature to battle major illnesses. From being a private beach house with an organic edible garden for personal consumption, it has slowly expanded into a space that advocates for sustainable farming, agritourism, and community enterprise support.
In line with their advocacy, they support the livelihood of locals and promote organic and healthy living through their organic produce market and healing and wellness space and activities. They allow individuals and families alike to relax and connect with nature through their farm and island hopping tours, farm-to table restaurant, yoga classes, and various water and sports activities among others.
Weekend WIldchild partners with Sambali Beach Farm for a beach farm experience that families with children of all ages can enjoy from and learn about sustainable and mindful living through Sambali’s best practices in farming, cooking, community building, and conserving the environment. This 3-day-2-night camp is a holistic farm and beach getaway rolled into one!
